In the recent, have good news for importer and exporter, that is --- Shipping company cut freight, that is to say, can help the importer save a lot. As we know, due to COVID-19 effect, sea freight increased a lot, caused Doppler effect, the end user purchased goods price is higher, then the overall number of sales was down. In the total, for exporter: the number of sales has decreased a lot; for importer: purchase goods cost is much higher than before.

However, with the effective control of COVID-19, and some changes in policy. Shipping has been improved. Shipping fees cut down!!! Really exciting! Another thing is also coming...
This July we booked one boat transport goods to Sohar, Oman; shipping fees is also normal, not very high. After 1.5months later, the goods would arrive the sea port soon, the customer sent us shipping company bill, customer said they operate fees is very high, only around 2-3CBM goods, destination sea port operate fees up to USD800, it is very high, he also had other goods arrived sea port, size is bigger than ours, the operate fees less than our goods. What can we do now? How to support our customer? Please do not worry. 

At this time, in the first, we should let our customer calm down, then we go on to contact the shipping agent, ask them to check with shipping company about the destination sea port operate fees standard again, and send them the bill again, check if have some place is unreasonable. After shipping agent checking, and declare items one by one to customer, if have unreasonable item can ask shipping agent to apply to cancel that fee. If all items charges are reasonable, have no choice have to ask customer to accept. However, we should try our best to help customer reduce the loss, ask shipping agent if can apply the discount from shipping company to support customer, we also can do some support such as discount for customer next order, anyway, we should try our best to support customer, let them feel is ok, look for the best solution. In the final, our shipping agent helped customer undertake USD100 operate fees, we also helped customer apply USD100 discount for his next order (if total cost more than USD100), double win. After customer pick up the goods, they also understand different shipping company with different charges. We also promised him next time cooperate with other shipping company to help him save more.

At a little earlier than this, we also have cargo arrived Busan, after arriving at the destination port, the operation fee also suddenly increased by USD100. Charge standard is different from shipping company sent us before shipping. Shipping company explained: LSS is the fuel surcharge, the international oil price rises and the shipping company raised the price.The handling fee is due to the recent strike at the Korean port. The cost of the shipping company has increased, so they increased the price.
